I think I just find excuses

I love this baby! I am always looking for reasons to take pictures of her. I think I may have a problem. Here she is riding in the cart for the first time. She loved looking around and sitting next to Josh. It was Costco so they had the double seater carts.

Ben suffers from the same problem. When I was out if town this weekend (a post will follow soon) he kept sending me random shots of her too.

He sent me this one when they were playing outside and she ate a dirt clod from our recently aerated lawn.

I got this picture after she ate an entire waffle on Saturday. I think he sent it more to show me that he made waffles and he was proud of himself and wanted me to be too. Anyway, he took a picture.

This is her in the tub Sunday morning. Once again, I think to prove he gave her a bath.

She's all ready for church!

How many pictures of the boys did we take in the last couple of weeks you ask? Well, probably a couple, but none that we shared with each other. I think we need help.

New family pictures

This year I completely give up. This 5th child of mine is so much fun but I find myself throwing my hands in the air and completely giving up sometimes. The battles aren't worth it anymore. In fact when it came to family pictures this year I did just that. Usually I run around for weeks trying to get matching outfits for everyone. I try and get accessories, shoes, jackets or hoodies, and the like. I spend a lot of money and time forcing my kids to look good so they can proceed to shove their new clothes in a drawer and never wear them again. This year I gave up. I said, "we are taking family pictures next week. I'm not buying clothes and we don't have to match. You can wear what you want to wear as long as it's not stained, holey, or flouresant." Not too much to ask I didn't think. Surprisingly my boys said, "Really? We can pick?" Then they actually picked nice jeans and tried to pick nice(r) shirts. Not what I would've chosen, but acceptable. We only had one visible nike sign, which means a lot to me. I hate being a walking billboard. All that mattered really was that Tiny was cute...right? Well, long story over. Here's my pictures.

Winner, winner, chicken gumball!?!

Today was a lucky day. I thought the boys had some extra energy to burn off from sitting semi still on Sunday. So, on a whim I decided to take them to Artic Circle for some lunch and play time. They must've been starving because they ate very speck of food. That never happens. So I decided I'd spring for a gumball for each of them. Anyone who's been to Artic Circle has met (in a booming voice) "The Gumball Machine!" Bum, bum, bum. Josh gets a yellow and chomps it down immediately. Seth gets a yellow also, but takes a second to study it. I've been teaching him to read so his little mind is turning trying to figure it out. I'm sitting there thinking, "come on kid, how hard can it be? They all say double bubble." But I waited. He looks at me and says,"mom, it's got a weird long word on it." I looked at it and sure enough the weird long word was WINNER. He had gotten the lucky winner gumball and was rewarded with a free ice cream cone! Lucky guy:)

Red blooded Americans

Yes, just like every other red blooded American, Davis County citizen we were at the opening day of the Chick-fil-a in Centerville. It was awesome, delicious, and Tiny was adorable. We are so excited to have one close by!

RAOK weeks 3, 4, 5, and 6

Playing catch-up as usual. I've been keeping up with my random acts, just not posting them as I should. Oh well. Here we go.
Week 3-

I found these keys in the snow and put them up on the lamp post. I'm not sure who took them, but normally I'd just walk by them and say to myself, "oh no, someone dropped their keys. That stinks for them." This time I picked them up and hopefully the person who dropped them walked by my house again and found them.

Also this week I made an effort to babysit for a friend I know who is trying to exercise more. She wanted to borrow my jogging stroller to push her daughter in, but it's still really cold outside so I told her to just bring her to my house. She did twice, and got to run kid free this week!

Week 4-
In honor of national blondie (or blonde brownie) day on January 22, I took blondies to 2 of my favorite blondes wth nice notes to tell them why I love them. Hopefully they enjoyed it and didn't think I am a weirdo.

Week 5-
Ok, so I admit to being slightly obsessed with National food days. I've got lots of plans this year. Consequently, this week will look very similiar to last week. In honor of National Chocolate Cake day (January 27) I made my best chocolate cake recipe and delivered it to two of my friends who love chocolate cake as much as I do. It was fun for me, hopefully they liked it too:)

Week 6-

This week I'm going with the theme of teaching my kids how to knock and run. Some of my fondest memories as a kid are making a treat, planning the perfect recipient, putting a treat on their doorstep, ringing their doorbell, and tearing down their driveway desperately jumping over bushes and diving behind neighboring cars trying to make it back to the van without getting caught. Every kid should experience the adrenaline rush of this activity.
I've decided to do the ever loved "ding dong" ditch. Yeah!

The other person we knocked and ran to was a friend who just had a baby. I made her some freezer meals and took her an outfit. This one unfortunately I had to put my name on it. I thought about making it anonymous, but decided if someone dropped food off at my door and I didn't know who it was I might not eat it. No, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't eat it. However, we knocked and ran anyway, just for fun!

Well, that's it!

Today is today

I've got quite a bit to catch up on, but here's what I've got today. It's Valentines Day and I'm in love. With this...

My breakfast. It's scrambled egg whites and yes, heart shaped bacon! So fun, and yummy!  My boys went nuts over them:)

We also gave all the boys a heart attack in their rooms. Telling them some of the reasons why we love them was really fun.

Happy Valentines Day!
