Be sure to include house keys, car keys and any other keys pertinent to your family’s needs. Label each key and place them in your fireproof box or safety deposit box. Water Tip In addition to stored water, other sources include melted ice cubes, water drained from the water heater faucet (if the water heater has not been damaged), water dipped from the flush tanks (not the bowls) of home toilets, and liquids from canned goods such as fruit and vegetable juices. Unsafe water sources include radiators, hot water boilers, waterbeds, swimming pools and spas. FEBRUARY SUMMARY Purchase items: 1. 20 lbs of sugar or 5 lbs of honey 2. Fire-proof box 6. 6 lbs of yeast 7. 2 jars spaghetti sauce 8. 2 jars salsa 9. 5 cans Cream of Mushroom Soup 10. 1 bottle of multi-vitamins Activities: Show your family the emergency shut-offs for water, gas and electricity and post instructions and tools nearby. Make copies of important papers and keys and store in a fire-proof box. Video or photograph the contents of your home and garage for insurance purposes and store in an alternate location.
