Ben gets to stay at the Sofitel Hotel...posh. Governor Arnold S. (i don't know how to spell his last name) is coming. Ben comes home on Friday 8/5/2008 I am sitting here praying my baby doesn't come. I am due 8/10/2008. What are we thinking? We are thinking "once in a lifetime opportunity." Have fun Ben! Good luck Heidi..and no jumping jacks until Friday!

Funny things kids say-Part 2

My sister Heather told me a hilarious story about her son Max. They went to his kindergarten testing last week. Heather had to wait out in the hall while Max was talking to the teacher answering all her questions. When they were done they came over to talk to Heather. The teacher asked Heather what some of his favorite things to do were, and then she posed the same question to Max. Max began his list and made sure to include this, " I get to watch adult movies." (He was talking about movies like Star Wars, and Transformers that Heather calls grown up movies, meaning that they may not be appropriate for kids). Heathers' face turned red and the teacher tells her not to worry, because she won't remember half the things Max tells her about his parents if they don't remember half the things Max tells them about her. I guess she has quite a few calls throughout the year from parents seeking clarification of comments their kids make about school and their teacher. The moral of the story...I guess You should stop letting your 5 year old watch adult movies Heather.

WHAT'S TO COME IN SEPTEMBER.....

  1. Labor day...Bar-B-Q baby!
  2. Ben travels to the Republican National Convention in Minnesota. Have fun being pampered in a nice hotel, fed good food, rubbing shoulders with all your favorite political royalty, receiving free stuff, and living it up for 4 1/2 days. You will need the time to yourself to prepare for getting up with the new baby when you get back!
  3. BACK TO SCHOOL!! Ben (17th grade) and Noah (Kindergarten) are both starting school...Noah on Sept.2nd, and Ben on Sept. 5th!
  4. HEIDI'S HAVING A BABY!!!! (due September 10th)
  5. What else is there to say, Heidi's having a baby. doesn't that automatically consume your life and give you no time for anything else but that baby.

A little plug for Ben!

The high quality fans on the democrat side...
Rob The bench Ben The republican team and fans Last weekend Ben put together a republican vs. democrat softball game. They do this every year before school starts. Last year the democrats didn't have a team, but this year they showed up. They had signs, shirts, free chap stick, refreshments, a sound system and an announcer. I was so impressed with yet another event that Ben pulled off. It was a lot of fun and I couldn't believe how many people Ben got to come. We are so proud of him and the good work that he does for Rob. However, the democrat fans were a little condescending and out of control... Do you think that next year you could tell them to wear modest clothing and leave their alcohol at home! This is a family event.

Funny thing my kids say!!

#1 We were at Kohls and Adam was singing and dancing in the aisles. All of the sudden he bends over and puts his hand on his stomach and says, "mom, my tummy hurts!" My initial thought was oh great where is the bathroom, he is going to throw up. After about 10 seconds of my mind racing and panicking Adam lets out this huge fart, stands up and says, "it feels good now mom," and continues singing and dancing. Noah and I just looked at each other and started laughing. #2 So, this was some other ladies kid who said this, but funny none the less. As of last week my sister Stephanie and I were both pregnant. She was 2 days over due and she was feeling kind of sad, so what do we do? Go shopping, at Costco of course because they sell stuff in larger sizes. I was standing in line to get lunch and there was a lady in front of us with a little girl in the cart. She kept looking at me and saying, "you're not next, you're not next." I just smiled and tried to blow it off as just someones bratty kid. Then Stephanie joins me in line, and the little girl says, "mommy, those two BIG girls don't get a churro, they don't get a churro." Her mom realized that we were both pregnant and grabbed her face and told her to stop talking. We were both devistated and then looked at each other and laughed. We can't help how BIG we are! The nerve of some kids!!!

Who knew Joey had it in him?

A week or so ago my sister, Heather, went to girls camp and left her husband Joey home with the kids. He called us and invited us to a light saber party that Max wanted to throw for a long time so Joey was going to make it happen. We went to the party and who knew it would be so fun. We not only had a light saber battle, we danced, he had snacks and drinks for the kids, he built a ropes course in the trees for the kids to climb on and he even picked a squash from his garden and cooked it up for Stephanie, Joey, and I to eat!! He was a great host and everyone had a lot of fun! Thanks Joey for the good times. I took lots of pictures so I could prove to Heather that it really did happen.
All of our Jedi hopefuls...Adam, Joey, Gus, Carly, Noah, Drew, Janae, Max, and Zach (missing from the picture was Wilson)
Max almost across the ropes Zach scooting along at a good pace Noah so strong to hold on so long

WHAT!!?? Heidi is 31?

I can't believe that it has happened, but it is true! I am 31...I know you don't have to say it. I decided to eat at Olive Garden for my birthday with some of my peeps! Alicia, Rhonda, April, Amy, and Willow! Food always helps me to recover from a depressive state and feel better.

Don't you just hate it when this happens?

How many times have you shown up to school, work, a dance, church, or other social function and found someone there with the same outfit on as you? I do this all the time! Then you spend the majority of the time trying to avoid the person just to get home soon enough to change before anyone notices. Well, this happened to Ali and me on Sunday, only we couldn't avoid each other so we did the next best thing, we took a picture like the dorks we are!

So the story continues for us. We take this picture and while we are laughing at ourselves and chatting we look down the hall and notice yet another friend (Kara) with a similar outfit on so we might as well embarrass her and add to the giggling chaos in the foyer.

DON'T YOU JUST HATE IT WHEN THIS HAPPENS!!!???

Searching for good times, and memories!

My friend Kim did this on her blog and I thought it was fun! So I am going to copy it and try it on my blog too. Here is how it works...You leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I shared. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. EVERYBODY PLAY! I want to see what memories are out there!
