You gotta have Faith

I know, I know, I know I totally missed the opportunity to post about the new baby in our family, Faith Elizabeth Horsley. She is a complete miracle, and joy in my life. No one, least of all me, ever thought I'd have a girl. However, here she is.

She is beautiful. She was born July 11, 2013. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 1 oz and was 21 inches long. (The exact measurements of Noah) She has really long feet, toes and fingers. Her toes are my favorite. I don't know how they have nails on them because they are so small.

Just like Noah she was born with lots of dark hair. Perhaps it will grow out blond and have reverse tips like Noah did.

The boys all love her and are willing to hold her if I need to go to the bathroom or make lunch. Adam is especially in love with her and willing to help. Which is funny because he was the one who was disappointed when I found out she was a girl. Now he's singing a different tune. At the hospital, I had to set a timer so Adam and Noah would take turns holding her. They weren't willing to share her otherwise.

My mom bought her this cute tutu skirt and I put it on her on Sunday. When Josh came home from church he says, "Mom, you put on your babies pretty princess?" Yes son, I put on her princess.

Josh hasn't grasped a couple of concepts yet. He calls her a him and a brother. He says "your baby" or "that baby" when he refers to her. I don't think he's quite ready to claim her as his sister.

We are all so excited to have her here. She is a very calm and sweet baby who sleeps pretty well so far and eats like a rock star. She loves to cuddle and be held by anyone who will pick her up. Now that she is a week old I am finally introducing her to you. Faith, we love you and wish you good luck being in the Horsley family.

39+ weeks- only days to go

I am always on the picture taking side of all family trips, events, and life experiences. I think I have only a handful of pictures of myself in our family albums. There are a few more of me in a group setting, but not so many solo pictures. I have begged and pleaded with my family and friends to take pictures of me while I was pregnant. Because I feel that a flip screen shot off the mirror on my iphone didn't do it justice.

Like this...

However, I never followed through with anyone and here I sit on the verge of delivery with no photos to document yet another pregnancy. Sigh. I did get Ben to take a couple on Sunday so here I am at 39 weeks and 2 days waiting to meet the new little one. We are all so excited to meet baby girl Horsley. (That is if she's really a girl)

I don't even know if its in focus...nice job Ben!

This ones upside down. Yet another fine job by my wonderful husband!

Was it worth it? I sure hope so. I hope u get a good laugh like I did.

When I am baptized

What a wonderful day the Horsley family had this past Saturday July 6, 2013. Our wonderful son Adam decided he wanted to be baptized and confirmed. He was so excited to make that wonderful choice. He's  been talking about it for months and couldn't wait for the day to come.  His grandma Ramona got him a new suit and snazzy tie to wear. We picked out some nice new scriptures for him to read out of. We invited his family and friends and planned some lunch after the baptism, and had a great day.
His grandma Leta gave a talk about baptism, grandpa Merlin prayed, grandma Ramona played piano, Dad baptized and confirmed Adam, and mom spur of the moment was asked by Brother Waddoups to share her testimony. Adam shared his service with Keely Banks, a cute girl in his primary class. Her family participated too. It was a great service.
When Adam came up out of the water he had the biggest, cheesiest smile on his face. You could tell he felt so happy. It was cute. Then after he was confirmed he walked past Keely and gave her a high 5. That was true Adam fashion. Good for you kids, you should high 5. You both just made a great decision!
At home we had lunch and played in the front yard with cousins, friends, and of course Uncle Kent.
I know that Heavenly Father loves Adam and is so proud of him for choosing to be a member of His church. I know that Adam will make good choices and use the Holy Ghost a lot in his life. He is just that kind of kid. Congratulations Adam! We love you so much:)

Where did he go? I said go stand by the grape vines, not in the grape vines silly!

Oh, so handsome!

By the font. He is so adorable. I'm sweaty (or, uh glistening) because the steam from the warm water is filling the room and I'm always hot!

It's birthday time!!

I wrote this post 3 weeks ago, but never posted it because I was waiting for his suit to be tailored. We finally got it back and got a picture. So, here it is:)

We have spent the last few days preparing for and celebrating Adam's 8th birthday! He is such a joy in our lives! He is very creative, funny, athletic, kind to his little brothers, and pretty much the whole package ladies:) He is a huge help to me with Seth and Josh and almost always willing to play with them. He is getting better at being a good friend, and becoming a very caring person. He is one of my favorite people.

My mom gets all the grand kids a new dress or suit for their 8th birthday for their baptism so we got that done last week. It was quite the experience having an actual tailor fit him for a suit. That usually doesn't happen until your mission or wedding. Then he got to pick out a tie.

I was brave and let him have a friend party. We had pizza, went to get air, and I made him a minecraft cake. It looked cooler in my head, but Adam loved it. Remember how I told you that he enjoys a lot of things. Well, he pretty much designed the cake and told me where everything had to go. It's Stevie slowly falling into a fiery pit in the mine because Hero Brine is watching him in the cave wall. Very creepy!

I think all the boys had fun. Most importantly Adam had a great time. I can't believe he's 8. I can't believe he's going to be in 3rd grade. He is such a joy and wonderful addition to our family. In all honesty I think he's the one of my boys that I can't wait to see what he does with his life the most. He will be a great person! Your mom loves you Adam! Happy birthday!
